Lunch and Learn

Organizing a small-sided soccer tournament at your high school or college is a great way to raise awareness of Saving Mothers' mission among your peers and raise funds for us at the same time. And you - and all participants - can earn community service hours for your efforts! If possible, try to align the timing of the tournament with either International Women's Day (March 8th) or Mother's Day for maximum exposure. Just be sure to involve your Dean and/or Athletic Director in the planning to ensure the best result. Here are some ideas about how to structure the tournament:

  • Each team has 5-7 members (with subs)
  • Ask each player to donate $10 (the equivalent of one safe birth kit)
  • Try to get 4-8 teams to play
  • Keep games to a 20 minute time limit to keep the tournament at a reasonable length
  • Be sure to organize the brackets well in advance
  • Sell refreshments to raise even more money!

Funds raised should be directed to:
