Jes Oliviera: Keynote Speaker For Seton Hall University
A shoutout to our Guatemala Program Director Jes Oliviera. Jes was chosen to be the keynote speaker at Seton Hall University’s Leadership Event speaking about the skills that PAs need in order to be successful healthcare leaders in their local and global communities (see the flyer below).
Jes is phenomenal. She is a Faculty Practice Physician Assistant in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She developed and implemented the curriculum for Saving Mothers School of POWHER Program in Guatemala.
The School of POWHER offers a training curriculum intended to provide traditional Mayan birth attendants called comadronas, with the skills necessary to ensure safe deliveries, address complications, and refer for hospital delivery when appropriate.
