Live from the 125 Years of Women at Brown Conference: Cofounder and President of Saving Mothers, Dr. Tara Shirazian!
Dr. Shirazian is the President and Medical Director of Saving Mothers. She is also the Director of Global Women’s Health in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at NYU Langone Medical Center, and currently practices as a gynecologic surgeon there.
Dr. Shirazian received her M.D. degree through the accelerated program at Brown Medical School, and completed her post-graduate residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
As a recognized leader in women’s health, Dr. Shirazian is frequently called on by the national media to appear as a women’s health expert. She has appeared on CBS This Morning, The Today Show, and Good Morning America, and has been quoted in major international publications including Newsweek and Wall Street Journal.
She believes in practicing medicine with an emphasis on patient education and empowerment and takes the time to ensure that each of her patients understands the details of her condition, and has the knowledge to make the best decisions to ensure her quality of life. This philosophy governs her work for women both locally and globally!
