Invest in Maternal Health
An article describing the implications of investing in maternal health and of providing basic reproductive care to women in need. Nigeria constitutes 2 percent of the global population but contributes 12 percent of the maternal burden.
As the article discuses, the death of a woman as a result of childbirth leaves the whole family vulnerable, causing productivity loss of about $1.5 billion annually and $15 billion globally!
These are striking numbers, but shows how important it is to invest in efforts that address issues facing women around the globe; an investment that we, Saving Mothers, believe is worthwhile.
